Fatal traffic accident in North Point

Police today (October 10) appealed to members of the public for information on a traffic accident in which an 85-year-old woman died in North Point earlier this month.

At about 6.40 pm on October 2, a public light bus driven by a 62-year-old man was travelling along westbound Cloudview Road downhill. Upon reaching outside No. 35 - 37, it reportedly knocked down the 85-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where she was certified dead at 00.23 am on the next day (October 3).

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
