Fatal traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 27-year-old man was killed and a 22-year-old man was injured in Tseung Kwan O early this (October 11) morning.

Shortly after 2.20 am, a motorcycle driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling along Tai Au Mun Road heading for Kowloon. When reaching near Clear Water Bay Second Beach, the motorcyclist reportedly lost control of his vehicle, dashed across the opposite lane and rammed against a lamppost on the pavement.

After the accident, another 22-year-old motorcyclist who was following the subject motorcycle also lost control of his vehicle, dashed across the opposite lane and hit a kerb on the roadside.

Sustaining injuries, the two men were rushed to Tseung Kwan O Hospital where the 27-year-old man was certified dead at 2.48 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are proceeding.
