Fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this morning (October 20) in which a female motorcycle passenger was killed.

A medium goods vehicle (MGV) and a motorcycle travelling along westbound Kwun Tong Road shortly before 10am believed to have a collision near Hong Tak Road. The 40-year-old motorcyclist and his 40-year-old female passenger got injured.

The female passenger sustaining head injuries was certified dead by ambulancemen at the scene.

The MGV being driven by a 57-year-old man left the scene and was later located by Police on Tsueng Kwan O Road near Tsueng Kwan O Tunnel. The MGV driver has been arrested for dangerous driving causing death; and failing to report an accident and stop after an accident.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are under way.
