Police smashed a suspected credit card fraud syndicate

Police Commercial Crime Bureau officers (CCB) today (September 13) neutralized a suspected credit card fraud syndicate and arrested three men for using a false instrument.

The case was disclosed in April this year when Hongkong Post found out that the three arrested persons had used false address proof to apply for mail redirection services between February and April. The case was then reported to CCB.

Police investigations showed that the three men had also submitted three credit card applications with false income and address proof to three local banks.

CCB officers conducted an arrested operation today and arrested the three men at their residences and Lok Ma Chau Border Control Point.

The three arrested people, aged between 37 and 53, are still being detained for further investigation.
