Appeal for information on rape and robbery case in Tsuen Wan (with photo)
Police today (July 26) appealed to members of the public for information on a rape and robbery case occurred in Tsuen Wan yesterday (July 25).
At about 8.10 am yesterday, a 48-year-old woman hiked along Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail. When she reached the hilltop, a man suddenly approached and demanded money from her. The victim refused but was dragged down the slope and raped by the culprit. The culprit then fled with the victim's property comprising $160 cash and a mobile phone. A report was later made to Police.
Aged about 30-40 and stands about 1.7 metres, the culprit is of thin build. He was wearing a dark coloured cap, a short-sleeved shirt, a pair of dark trousers and carrying a rucksack and an umbrella when he committed the crime. The man speaks Cantonese with a mainland accent.
Anyone who has witnessed the case or has any information to offer is urged to contact the investigating officers of Regional Crime Unit of New Territories South on 3661 1215.
Police also advise members of the public to avoid hiking alone in country parks, hiking trails or remote areas. Hikers who come across any suspicious persons should call the Police immediately.
