Man charged with dangerous driving causing death

Police today (July 18) charged a 23-year-old man with one count of dangerous driving causing death.

The traffic accident occurred at about 9.45 am yesterday, a private car driven by the man was travelling along Tai Po Road in Cheung Sha Wan towards Sham Shui Po. While approaching outside the old North Kowloon Magistracies' Courts, it reportedly knocked down an 84-year-old woman who was crossing the road. The woman was certified dead at the Caritas Medical Centre at 10.04 am on the same day.

The man will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (July 19).
