Robbery victims urged to come forward
Police today (June 15) appealed to members of the public who have been robbed in New Territories North Region since last October but have not made report to the Police to come forward.
The appeal was made today after Police arrested a 22-year-old man in Wu King Estate in Tuen Mun this morning.
Initial enquiries revealed that the man was suspected to be in connection with two robbery cases which occurred in October last year. In the first case, a 43-year-old woman was robbed by a culprit of $450 cash and she sustained minor injuries in a flat on Yuen Long On Ning Road on October 21. In the second case, a 35-year-old woman was tied up and robbed by a man of $340 cash in a flat on San Shing Avenue in Sheung Shui on October 28. The latter victim sustained no injury.
Following extensive investigations by Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North, officers arrested the man in Wu King Estate in Tuen Mun this morning. Further enquiries revealed that the man was suspected to be connected with a spate of robberies occurred in Yuen Long, Sheung Shui and Tsuen Wan since October last year.
Standing at about 1.83 metres tall, the arrested man is of strong build. He has a pointed face, big eyes and short haircut and speaks in Cantonese. He will be detained overnight for further enquiries.
Police urged anyone who has fallen prey to such crime to contact the investigating officers at 2666 4428 or report to any police station.
