Special traffic arrangements in Siu Sai Wan
Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Siu Sai Wan tomorrow (April 21) to facilitate an event to be held at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground.
A. The following traffic arrangements will be implemented around 6 pm at the commencement of the event:
(1) A section of the leftmost lane of eastbound Siu Sai Wan Road outside Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground will be used as a temporary dropping point for coaches, taxis and private cars; and
(2) Fu Hong Street will be closed for all vehicular traffic except emergency vehicles and vehicles accessing to car park and premises.
B. The following road diversions may be implemented at about 9.55 pm for the dispersal of crowds on conclusion of the event:
(1) Vehicles along northbound Harmony Road must turn right into eastbound Siu Sai Wan Road;
(2) Vehicles along westbound Siu Sai Wan Road must turn left into southbound Harmony Road;
(3) Vehicles along Sun Yip Street will not be allowed to enter Siu Sai Wan Road;
(4) Fu Hong Street and a section of Siu Sai Wan Road between Sun Yip Street and Harmony Road will be closed;
(5) If necessary, a section of Sun Yip Street between Fung Yip Street and Ka Yip Street will be re-routed one way southbound and vehicles travelling along northbound Sun Yip Street will be diverted to turn left into Fung Yip Street; while vehicles from eastbound Fung Yip Street will be diverted to turn right into southbound Sun Yip Street; and
(6) The bus stop outside Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground will be temporarily suspended. Passengers will be advised to use the bus terminus at Island Resort.
C. Learner Driver Prohibition
A section of Siu Sai Wan Road between Sun Yip Street and Harmony Road will be prohibited to all learner drivers between 5 pm and 11 pm.
The parking spaces for coaches/goods vehicles along the eastern pavement of Sun Yip Street between Siu Sai Wan Road and Fung Yip Street will be suspended between 7 am and 11 pm.
In addition, any vehicles found illegally parked in the area will be towed away without prior notice.
