Wounding case reclassified as attempted murder
Police tonight (March 7) reclassified a wounding case that occurred in Fanling this morning as attempted murder and arrested a 64-year-old man in connection with the case.
The case came to light at about 8.40 am when a report was made to Police that a 38-year-old woman shouted for help outside her flat at Yiu Ming House of Wah Ming Estate.
Police officers deployed to the scene located the woman with injuries on her face. She was sent to the North District Hospital for treatment and was later transferred to the Prince of Wales Hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.
Her 64-year-old husband was arrested at scene. Initial enquiries revealed that the man poured some corrosive liquid at the victim inside their flat.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tai Po are proceeding. The man will be detained overnight for further enquiries.
