Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Happy Valley

Police appealed to members of the public for information on a traffic accident in which a 63-year-old man was killed in Happy Valley tonight (December 12).

Shortly before 7.20 pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 44-year-old man was travelling along southbound Canal Road flyover. Upon reaching the end of the flyover near Sports Road, it reportedly knocked down a 63-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital where he was certified dead at 8.16 pm.

Investigations will be taken over by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island.
