Robbery and murder in Wong Tai Sin

Police are investigation a robbery and murder case in which a 74-year-old woman died in Wong Tai Sin last (November 16) night.

At about 11.45 pm yesterday, a 41-year-old woman made a report to the Police that when she returned home at Wah Yuen House, Chuk Yuen South Estate, her 74-year-old mother-in-law was found lying unconscious on a bed with her hands and legs tied up. Signs of ransacking were also detected inside the unit.

The woman was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 12.13 am today (November 17).

Initial enquiries revealed that some HK$10,000 cash were found missing.

A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are proceeding.
