Robbery in Sham Shui Po re-classified as murder
Police have reclassified a robbery case occurred in Sham Shui Po this morning (September 28) as murder.
At about 3.10am, Police received reports that a man was heard shouting for help near 229 Hai Tan Street. Police sped to the scene and later located a 58-year-old taxi driver with multiple injuries inside a taxi compartment. He was sent to Caritas Medical Centre where he was certified dead at 12.07 am today.
The case has been taken over by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West for investigations.
After Police initial investigations, it was believed that a female passer-by has witnessed the fleeing route of the suspect. Police are appealing this woman to come forward. Apart from that, any taxi driver who has transport any suspicious person from Sham Shui Po Park after the incident or anyone especially drivers who might have witnessed the case, have seen the victim's taxi before the incident or have any information to offer are urged to contact the investigating officers at 2360 7278 or 2760 5585.
