Police appeal to burglary victims to come forward
Police today (September 26) appealed to victims of burglary cases to report to the Police after three illegal immigrants were arrested and a quantity of stolen properties were found in their possession in Tin Shui Wai yesterday (September 25).
At about 10 am yesterday, police officers of Tin Shiu Wai Police Station spotted a man who acted suspiciously leaving a metal hut during an anti-burglary operation mounted in Tin Sum Tsuen, Tin Shui Wai. Upon seeing Police, the man walked away quickly but was arrested by the officers.
At the same time, the officers found two other men holding two rucksacks in their hands in the same hut. When the officers were about to arrest them, one of them put up a struggle with the officers but they were eventually arrested.
A subsequent search on the trio resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected stolen goods including digital cameras, mobile phones and watches in their possession.
Initial enquiries revealed that they were suspected to be connected with recent burglary cases occurred in Tin Sum Tsuen. The three men, aged between 24 and 34, were arrested and all subsequently charged with offences of burglary and illegal immigration while one of them was additionally charged with assaulting police officers. They will appear at the Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts tomorrow morning (September 27).
Police urge anyone who has been the victim of a burglary but has not reported to the Police to contact officers of Divisional Investigation Team of Tin Shui Wai on 2448 5261 or Tin Shui Wai Police Station on 2448 5200.
