Return of suspect from the Mainland
A 21-year-old man wanted in connection with a murder case reported on April 9, 2003 in Yau Ma Tei was returned to the Hong Kong Police (HKP) from the Shengzhen Public Security Bureau (PSB) yesterday (September 14).
At about 9.30 am on April 9, 2003, a 56-year-old man reported to the Police that he found his employer, aged 67, lying unconscious inside his bedroom at 5 Bowring Street after the employer failed to return to his shop. The man was certified dead at the scene.
Police investigations revealed that the head of the deceased was wrapped in a towel and a plastic bag and wounds were found at the back of his head.
Police extensive investigation led to the identification of the 21-year-old suspect. He was believed to have left for the mainland but was eventually located by the Shengzhen Public Security Bureau in Lowu in mid August this year.
The suspect was returned to Hong Kong Police yesterday and is now being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Yau Tsim are proceeding.
