Kowloon West Regional Traffic Day

A total of 656 Fixed Penalty Tickets (FPTs) and 161 summonses were issued to motorists and pedestrians who violated various traffic regulations during an operation by Traffic Kowloon West.

The Kowloon West Regional Traffic Day was conducted between 4am yesterday (August 21) and 4am today (August 22). A total of 399 officers from Traffic Kowloon West, District Traffic Teams of Yau Tsim, Mong Kok, Kowloon City and Sham Shui Po were deployed to enforce regulations at the traffic accident blacksites in Kowloon West Region.

Seventy-five pedestrians and 98 drivers were verbally warned for committing jaywalking and other minor traffic offences.

Statistics revealed that a total of 2,038 traffic accidents involving casualties occurred in Kowloon West Region in January to July this year.
