Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Wan Chai
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on August 8 in Wan Chai in which a 55-year-old woman was killed.
At about 5.35 pm on August 8, a light goods vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man was travelling along Spring Garden Lane, Wan Chai. While making a right turn into Johnston Road, it reportedly knocked down the 55-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Queen Mary Hospital. She was certified dead at 1.40 pm on the next day (August 9).
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
Police urge anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 3106 8800.
