Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan
Police today (August 1) appealed to members of the public for information on a traffic accident in which a 47-year-old man died in Chai Wan last month.
At about 7.10am on July 19, a taxi driven by the 47-year-old man was travelling along westbound Chai Wan Road. When it reached the junction with Yee Shun Street, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle that subsequently rammed to the iron railing.
After the impact, the driver was found collapsed and injured inside the compartment. He was sent to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.40pm on July 23.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are underway.
