One more person died in fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui
The 15-year-old male passenger who was injured in the fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui yesterday (July 25) was certified dead in hospital at 3.46 am today (July 26).
At about 8 pm yesterday, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 52-year-old man was travelling along the second lane on Jockey Club Road towards Sheung Shui. When reaching near Ling Shan Road, it reportedly knocked down a 15-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle crossing the road with another 15-year-old boy on board.
Sustaining serious injuries, both boys were rushed to North District Hospital where the 15-year-old bicycle rider was certified dead at 8.21 pm yesterday while the 15-year-old passenger was certified dead at 3.46am today.
The driver of the PLB was later arrested for drink driving and dangerous driving causing death. He was released on police bail at $10,000 and is required to report back today.
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
