Appeal for information on robbery in Tsim Sha Tsui
Police today (July 25) appealed to the public for information on a robbery in which two men were robbed of $2.6 million worth of jewellery in Tsim Sha Tsui earlier this month.
Shortly after noon on July 19, a 35-year-old man carrying a black briefcase containing jewellery worth about $2.6 million left his office on Hart Avenue with a 22-year-old male colleague. When they walked past 33-35A Carnarvon Road, three to four men approached them and attacked them with beef knife. The culprits then fled away with their briefcase.
Sustaining hand and leg injuries, the victims were sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment.
A knife was left at scene. It was believed that three of the culprits ran into Tsim Sha Tsui East KCR station entrance on Hanoi Road and quickly left at Mody Road exit. It was believed that the trio then fled by a getaway car or taxi on Mody Road near Mirror Tower at about 12.15 pm.
Two of the culprits, aged 30 to 40, are about 1.7 metres tall and has short hair. They were wearing black or dark-colour clothes and blue jeans. The other culprit also aged about 30 to 40, is about 1.65 metres tall and is bald. He was wearing blue T-shirt, dark-colour sporting pants and white sport shoes.
Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are underway.
