Appeal for information on robbery in Tsim Sha Tsui
Police appealed to the public for information on a robbery occurred in Tsim Sha Tsui today (July 19) in which two men were robbed of $2.7 million worth of jewellery.
Shortly after noon, a 35-year-old man carrying a black briefcase containing diamond jewellery worth about $2.7 million left his office on Hart Avenue with a 22-year-old male colleague. When they walked past 33N Carnarvon Road, three to four men approached them and attacked them with knives. The culprits then fled away with their briefcase.
Sustaining hand and leg injuries, the victims were sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment.
A knife was left at scene. It was believed that the culprits fled to Chatham Road and Tsim Sha Tsui East KCR station entrance on Hankow Road respectively and some of them may sustain injuries.
Two of the culprits, aged about 40, are about 1.7 metres tall and has short hair. They were wearing black clothes and each carrying a knife while committing the crime.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Yau Tsim are underway.
