Man arrested for murder in Sham Shui Po

Police arrested a 55-year-old man in Sham Shui Po yesterday (July 17) evening in connection with a murder and arson case in which a 37-year-old woman was killed on June 22.

At about 9.20 am on June 22, Police received a report that smoke was found emitting from a residential unit at 172 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Sham Shui Po. A 37-year-old woman was later found lying unconscious on a bed in the unit. She was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.10 am on the same day.

A post-mortem on the deceased revealed that she died of strangulation.

The arrested person is still being detained for enquiries.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are proceeding.
