Murder and arson case in Sham Shui Po

Police are investigating a murder and arson case in which a 37-year-old woman was killed in Sham Shui Po this (June 22) morning.

At about 9.20 am, Police received a report that smoke was found emitting from a residential unit at 172 Cheung Sha Wan Road. Police officers and firemen sped to the scene.

After putting out the fire, the firemen found a woman lying unconscious on a bed in the unit and the fire was suspicious in nature. The woman was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.10 am.

A post-mortem on the deceased will be conducted tomorrow (June 23) to ascertain the cause of her death.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West are proceeding.
