Appeal for information on robbery in Cheung Sha Wan
Police appealed to members of the public for information on a robbery occurred in Cheung Sha Wan today (June 21) in which $0.7 million in cash was robbed.
At about noon, a 34-year-old man carrying with him a bag with cash $0.7 million left his office on Woosung Street in Yau Ma Tei to buy gold ornaments in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long areas.
When the victim arrived at the Mei Foo MTR station and left for KCR West Rail train. A man approached him from behind and pointed him with a hard object, which was suspected to be a pistol-like-object, covered with black cloth.
The man threatened the victim and led him to a public toilet at Lai Chi Kok Park on Po Lun Street in Cheung Sha Wan. The culprit fled with the victim's cash and mobile phone after assaulting him by fists and stabbed his left thigh with an hard object.
A passer-by found the victim sitting inside the toilet made a report to the Police. The victim was then taken to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment.
Enquiries revealed that the culprit was a Chinese man aged about 40, 1.73 meter in height. He wore a pair of sunglasses, a beige cap, a mouth mask, a dark grey long-sleeved shirt, a pair of black trousers and black shoes when committing the crime.
The case has been taken over by the District Crime Squad of Sham Shui Po for investigations.
