Closure orders against vice premises in Yuen Long executed
Police today (June 9) executed close orders against four villas in Yuen Long with an aim to eradicating vice related activities in the district.
Officers from Yuen Long Special Duty Squads together with court appointed Bailiffs executed the closure orders against the four villas located on Castle Peak Road, Tai Tong Road, Hop Yick Road, and Hong King Street in Yuen Long at about 10 am this morning.
The four closed premises were found to be consistently involved in vice-related activities in the past six to nine months.
Police have successfully raided the premises and arrested 10 men and 13 women between November 2004 and March 2006. Ten of the arrested persons have been prosecuted and sentenced to four to six months in jail after conviction of managing a vice establishment.
Under the Crimes Ordinance, closure of premises could be carried out when vice related offences were committed in the same place within a period ranging from four to 16 months after a conviction of similar offences.
In 2005, Police have arrested more than 700 people for vice related offences in various anti-vice operations conducted in Yuen Long District.
A Police spokesman stressed that rigorous action would be taken continuously against vice activities.
