Fatal traffic accident in Stanley
Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 60-year-old man was killed in Stanley today (February 22).
At about 12.15 pm, a public light bus driven by a 43-year-old man was travelling along Tai Tam Road towards Chai Wan. Upon reaching outside 28, Tai Tam Road, it reportedly knocked down a 60-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.55 pm.
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
Police urge anyone who might have witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 3106 8800 or 3106 8848.
