Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin
Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 48-year-old man was killed and two other persons were injured in Sha Tin this (January 28) morning.
At about 11.35 am, a private car driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling upslope Tai Po Road towards Kowloon. When reaching near Luk Hop Village, the private car reportedly lost control and swerved to the opposite carriageway. It then collided with a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 33-year-old expatriate man which was travelling downslope Tai Po Road towards Sha Tin.
Sustaining serious injuries, the private car driver and its 17-year-old female passenger were rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) for treatment where the driver was certified dead at 12.13 pm. The LGV driver was also injured and sent to the PWH.
The case will be handed over to Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South for investigations.
