Fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 73-year-old woman was killed in Ma On Shan last (January 27) night.

Shortly after 8.30 pm, a taxi was travelling on Sai Sha Road towards Ma On Shan. When reaching near Che Ha Tsuen, it reportedly knocked down the 73-year-old woman who was pushing a trolley and crossing the road.

After the impact, the injured woman was bounced to the opposite carriageway.

Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at 8.59pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.
