Fatal traffic accident in Sha Tin

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 22-year-old man was killed in Sha Tin this (January 13) morning.

Shortly before 11.30 am, while approaching Sun Tin Wai Estate, a motorcycle travelling along Lion Rock Tunnel Road towards Kowloon reportedly collided with a light goods vehicle ready for a left turn to Sha Tin Tau Village. The motorcycle then collided with a private car on the third lane before it came to a halt.

After the impact, the 22-year-old motorcyclist was trapped underneath the private car and was rescued by the firemen. He was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where he was certified dead at 11.54 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories South are underway.
