The Service Quality Wing organised the Service Quality Award (SQA) Scheme 2023 cum Police Staff Suggestions Scheme 2023 Awards presentation ceremony on September 11 to recognise the excellent performance of Formations and officers in enhancing efficiency and service quality. In his opening speech, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee stressed that in addition to fostering internal communication, the Force should pool officers’ intelligence and abilities to enhance its service quality, and in particular that of relevant frontline work, to deal with the diversified challenges that the Force might face in the future. The lists of awardees of the two schemes have been uploaded to POINT.


The Police Staff Suggestions Scheme, which has been launched since 1994, aims to encourage and motivate officers to raise suggestions for improving or streamlining workflows. 19 awards were presented during the ceremony. The suggestions covered various areas, including improving the operational equipment, streamlining workflows and refining electronic management, etc.


The SQA Scheme, which has been held biennially since 2003, covers five main categories, namely General Service, Specialised Service, Regulatory Service, Management of Crisis and Internal Service, for implementing the premise of citizen-centric approach. A record-breaking number of 60 projects were received this year. During the ceremony, the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in each category and 36 Merit Awards were presented.
