In line with the counter-terrorism (CT) strategies of the Force and Kowloon East (KE), Emergency Unit of Kowloon East (EU KE) has initiated the KE SMARTPAD (Kowloon East Shopping Malls Awareness and Responsiveness Training Programme Against Domestic-terrorism) since 2020 to enhance CT awareness among property management personnel of shopping malls in KE. The programme of this year comprises two phases. In phase one, a CT seminar was held at KE Regional Headquarters on March 22 to enhance CT knowledge among personnel of the shopping mall property management sector. About 40 representatives from 21 shopping malls in KE attended the seminar.

In phase two, officers from EU KE will be sent to shopping malls in the Region to offer drills and practical exercises to frontline property management personnel for enhancing their CT awareness and vigilance on handling suspicious objects.

A CT seminar is held to foster communication among the Force and property management personnel.
