Shatin District (STDIST) has been strategically disseminating information about the latest modus operandi of scams and anti-deception messages to target groups through various community platforms by means of Shark Net, its anti-deception promotion project, and collaborating with the two local universities, namely the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, to facilitate delivery of anti-deception information to teaching staff and students.

Officers from the Police Community Relations Office of STDIST visited CUHK on January 12. They talked to over 60 teaching staff in a “physical-and-remote” hybrid model about the modus operandi of scammers to enhance their anti-deception awareness, hoping that they will promote the relevant messages to their students. Through Shark Net, STDIST will also join hands with CUHK to release anti-deception short videos with topics targeting at teaching staff and students for better publicity effects. STDIST hopes that the promotion project can strengthen the collaboration and relationship with the education sector to reinforce the sense of shared ownership in tackling policing issues.
