Commissioner Siu Chak-yee led a seven-member delegation to attend the 90th INTERPOL General Assembly in New Delhi, India from October 18 to 21. Other delegates included Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chow Yat-ming, Director of Crime and Security Yip Wan-lung and Senior Superintendent of Liaison Bureau Chan Rock-sang.


In the General Assembly, delegates from the jurisdictions endorsed a series of measures that would strengthen INTERPOL to better serve the member states and reinforce partnerships for enhancing the capabilities of INTERPOL in its response to cross-boundary crimes. The Commissioner addressed the General Assembly, summing up the past contribution of the Hong Kong Police Force in combating transnational technology crimes and economic crimes, and reiterating the importance of international cooperation amongst law enforcement agencies and relevant stakeholders.


Meanwhile, the Commissioner had bilateral meetings with the delegates of Australia, Cambodia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, and Sweden respectively to discuss issues on combating transnational crime, international cooperation and matters on training exchange.
