The Senior Police Call (SPC) Annual General Meeting 2020 was held at the Police Headquarters on October 30 and over 200 guests and SPC members attended the event. In his opening speech, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee expressed gratitude to members of SPC Central Advisory Board, presidents of SPC Honorary Presidents Councils from different police districts and SPC members for their continuous support to the scheme.
During the meeting, Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch (Community Relations) Tso Yu-woon reviewed the past SPC activities and introduced the way forward. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to SPC strategic partners, 22 best SPC captains and 22 most active SPC members for their contributions and support to SPC. The Commissioner also presented SPC certificates of appreciation to the two masters of ceremonies, Ms Carrie Tsui and Ms Martha Chiu, for their tremendous support, efforts and contributions to SPC activities. Ms Tsui of Tsuen Wan District and Ms Chiu of Yuen Long District joined the SPC in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Over the years, they volunteered in many SPC activities and acted as masters of ceremonies. They also represented SPC in many open competitions and achieved outstanding results. They are role models for other SPC members.
Since its establishment in 2014, SPC has been supported by the SPC Central Advisory Board and Honorary Presidents Councils from different police districts. Through diversified training, activities and publicity, SPC promotes the motto of “Helping oneself and others” to prevent the elderly from becoming victims of crimes.
