The Force Rope Access Cadre (FRAC) is committed to supporting frontline officers, raising their safety awareness of working at height and equipping them with the necessary professional knowledge and skills for working in high risk places. Between the fourth quarter of 2020 and the fourth quarter of 2021, FRAC organised three Low-angle Operative Training Courses and one Work at Height Safety Awareness Workshop for over 100 officers from the Emergency Unit of New Territories North (NTN), the Quick Reaction Force of NTN and the Identification Bureau. The contents of the training were tailor-made for boosting officers’ capability of coping with the unique work risks of their respective units.
The training covered safety guidelines for working at height and in dangerous areas. Through practical exercises, officers enhanced their skills in using suitable equipment in complicated surroundings and increased their awareness of the proper use of personal protective equipment. The training was well received by officers. They expressed the training has enhanced their safety awareness, confidence and efficiency when executing duties.
FRAC will continue to uphold its motto “Attitude Drives Altitude” and collaborate closely with frontline units to nurture officers’ cautiousness and safety awareness when working at height.
