The Junior Police Call (JPC) held the JPC Buddy Scheme Fun Day for over 600 JPC buddies and their family members at JPC@Pat Heung on May 18.

The Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) launched the JPC Buddy Scheme in January with the aim of encouraging more young people to become JPC members. By inviting a friend to join the JPC Scheme, both the existing JPC member and his or her friend will become JPC buddies. The JPC member will lead the buddy to participate in JPC activities. This helps enhance their communication and leadership skills and enable them to become future leaders and fight crime partners.

To echo the theme of "Buddy", the participants of the fun day were required to join the activities with their partners to develop team spirit. They took part in a variety of activities, including tree house challenge, zip lining, inflatable bouldering, archery and a virtual reality game. The fun day also featured balloon twisting, face painting and photograph taking in mini police uniforms and mini police vehicles. Souvenirs were given to the participants.

By participating in JPC activities, the JPC buddies can accumulate points to redeem a limited edition of Police Mini Figure. The 10 pairs of JPC buddies with the highest points in the junior group and senior group will respectively advance to the final challenge in the fourth quarter this year. Winners will be given local leadership training or overseas exchange opportunities.

The PPRB will continue to organise activities to enhance communication with young people, and inspire them to develop positive values. The JPC will set up recruitment booths in different locations and release the latest information on its website (www.hkpjpc.org.hk), Instagram and Facebook.
