The Junior Police Officer (JPO) Development Learning Division is responsible for the management and development training programmes for JPOs, including Police Constable (PC) to Station Sergeant. Training for PC with five years of service or more in the Force adopts the modular training format, including PC Development Course I and II, as well as PC Leadership Course to develop their professionalism, psychological competency, problem-solving and communication skills, as well as basic leadership and management concept by phrases. The Division also offers accredited training programmes for newly promoted Station Sergeant and Sergeant with the qualification of Level 5 and Level 4 under the Hong Kong Qualification Framework (HKQF) respectively. These courses aim to enhance the police officers’ competencies on leadership, communication and professionalism in taking up their supervisory roles and responsibilities effectively. Sergeants with five years of service or more in rank will also be invited to attend the Sergeant 5th Year Development Course which is focused to cultivate personal qualities and attributes for further advancement in their police career.
