The PI Training Division is mainly responsible for the foundation training of PI, especially in leadership and management training, and in-service continuation training for newly passed-out inspectors during their initial three years of police service. The Division aims to equip the recruits with a good foundation in police knowledge, skills and attitude as well as to encourage and facilitate continuous learning and development.
The training provided by the Division includes:
- Probationary Inspector (PI) Foundation Training
- Inspector Continuation Training
The PI foundation training has been accredited at the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 5 by the Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) in accordance with the Programme Area Accreditation status in the Programme Area of “Law Enforcement and Security Studies” granted by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications.
Upon successful completion of 36-week PI foundation training programme, HKPC may award PI with vocational qualifications that are recognised under the Hong Kong QF, namely “Professional Diploma in Leadership and Management in Policing” (at the same level of a Bachelor’s degree of academic sector).
