Application of Certificates of Traffic Conviction Records

Drivers may apply to the Central Traffic Prosecutions Division for Certificate of Traffic Conviction Records, Certificate of No Recorded Traffic Conviction and Driving-offence Points Record. Applications may be made in person, through an authorized person, by post, drop-in box, e-mail or fax. Details of the application methods are listed as follows :

Application in person

  1. An applicant may obtain and submit the application form by visiting the Central Traffic Prosecutions Division Enquiry Counter at 11/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, No. 1 Arsenal Street, Wanchai, Hong Kong during office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, except Saturdays, Sundays and General Holidays.

  2. When submitting the completed application form, the applicant is required to produce his/her Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence respectively and pay a prescribed fee of HK$61. The fee can be paid by cash, Octopus, a crossed cheque or a cashier’s order made payable to “the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”. A notification for collection of the Certificate and an official receipt will be issued when the application is formally accepted by this office.

  3. The Certificate(s) and other requested records can be collected in person at our office after completion of all application procedures. If prescribed fee is paid by cash or Octopus, the Certificate(s) will be available for collection on the same day of application for one to four applications; for five to nine applications, the Certificates can be collected on the next working day after receipt of the application and on the third working day for ten or more applications. If prescribed fee is paid by cheque, the Certificate(s) will be available for collection on the sixth working days.

  4. According to Section 75 (5) and 75 (5A), Chapter 374 of Road Traffic Ordinance, the Certificate can only be issued when the application form and fees are received and all the outstanding court orders are settled by the applicant

Application submitted by an authorized person

  1. If an applicant is unable to apply in person, he/she may authorize a person to submit the application. The authorized person may approach the Central Traffic Prosecutions Division Enquiry Counter at 11/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, No. 1 Arsenal Street, Wanchai, Hong Kong during office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays except Saturdays, Sundays and General Holidays

  2. An authorized person is required to submit the application form duly completed by the applicant, together with copies of the applicant’s Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence respectively and pay a prescribed fee of HK$61. The fee can be paid by cash, Octopus, a crossed cheque or a cashier’s order made payable to “the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”. A notification for collection of the Certificate and an official receipt will be issued when the application is formally accepted by this office.

  3. The Certificate(s) and other requested records can be collected by an authorized person at our office after completion of all application procedures. Application by post

  1. An applicant may send the application by post to Traffic Conviction Records Office, Central Traffic Prosecutions Division, 30/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, No. 1 Arsenal Street, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

  2. When submitting the completed application form, the applicant is required to provide copies of Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence respectively and pay a prescribed fee of HK$61 by a crossed cheque or a cashier’s order made payable to “the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”. A notification for collection of the Certificate will be issued and mailed to the applicant when the application is formally accepted by this office.

  3. The Certificate can be collected in person or by an authorized person in 6 working days from the date of receipt of the application and fees.

  4. According to Section 75 (5) and 75 (A), Chapter 374 of Road Traffic Ordinance, the Certificate can only be issued when the application form and fees are received and all the outstanding court orders are settled by the applicant.

Application by drop-in box

  1. An applicant may put the application into the Traffic Conviction Records Office Drop-in Box at 1/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, No. 1 Arsenal Street, Wanchai, Hong Kong during office hours from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, except Sundays and General Holidays.

  2. When submitting the completed application form, the applicant is required to provide copies of Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence respectively and pay a prescribed fee of HK$61 by a crossed cheque or a cashier’s order made payable to “the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region” in an envelop and drop into the Traffic Conviction Records Office Drop-in Box. A notification for collection of the Certificate will be issued and mailed to the applicant when the application is formally accepted by this office.

  3. The Certificate can be collected in person or by an authorized person in 6 working days from the date of receipt of the application and fees.

  4. According to Section 75 (5) and 75 (5A), Chapter 374 of Road Traffic Ordinance, the Certificate can only be issued when the application form and fees are received and all the outstanding court orders are settled by the applicant.

Application by e-mail

  1. An applicant may e-mail the completed application form to aco-ctpd-traffic@police.gov.hk. Traffic Conviction Records Office will confirm with the applicant by phone regarding the applicant’s payment method when collecting the Certificate. If the prescribed fee is paid by cash/Octopus, the Certificate can be collected in 3 working days from the date of receipt of the application. On the other hand, if the prescribed fee is paid by cheque made payable to “the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”, the Certificate can only be collected in 6 working days from the date of receipt of the prescribed fee. A notification for collection of the Certificate will be issued and e-mailed to the applicant when the application is formally accepted by this office.

  2. When collecting the Certificate in person, the applicant is required to produce his/her original application form, Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence for verification of identity. If the Certificate is collected by an authorized person, the authorized person shall provide his/her Hong Kong Identity Card, together with the applicant’s original application form, copies of the applicant's Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence for verification of identity.

  3. According to Section 75 (5) and 75 (A), Chapter 374 of Road Traffic Ordinance, the Certificate can only be issued when the application form and fees are received and all the outstanding court orders are settled by the applicant.

Application by fax

  1. An applicant may fax the completed application form to Traffic Conviction Records Office at 2200 4451. Traffic Conviction Records Office will confirm with the applicant by phone regarding the applicant’s payment method when collecting the Certificate. If the prescribed fee is paid by cash/Octopus, the Certificate can be collected in 3 working days from the date of receipt of the application. On the other hand, if the prescribed fee is paid by cheque made payable to “the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region”, the Certificate can only be collected in 6 working days from the date of receipt of the prescribed fee. A notification for collection of the Certificate will be issued and faxed to the applicant when the application is formally accepted by this office.

  2. When collecting the Certificate in person, the applicant is required to produce his/her original application form, Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence for verification of identity. If the Certificate is collected by an authorized person, the authorized person shall provide his/her Hong Kong Identity Card, together with the applicant’s original application form, copies of the applicant's Hong Kong Identity Card and Hong Kong driving licence for verification of identity.

  3. According to Section 75 (5) and 75 (5A), Chapter 374 of Road Traffic Ordinance, the Certificate can only be issued when the application form and fees are received and all the outstanding court orders are settled by the applicant.

Overseas application

If applicants who live overseas would like to apply for the Certificate of Traffic Conviction Records, they can e-mail to Traffic Conviction Records Office, Central Traffic Prosecutions Division at e-mail address : aco-ctpd-traffic@police.gov.hk. This office will contact the applicants for arrangements.
