Regional Crime Prevention Office of Kowloon West (KW) Region jointly organised the “Kowloon West Region Best Security Services Awards 2021” Presentation Ceremony, which has been held over twenty years, with Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (SGSIA) and The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies (HKAPMC) at the Police Officers’ Club on September 29 to motivate the security services industry to proactively enhance the quality of their security and property management services, and provide the members of the public with quality security services and also commended personnel in the industry for their assistance to the Police in combating crime during the past year.
Officiating at the event were Commissioner of Police SIU Chak-yee, Acting Regional Commander of KW HO Kai-hin Tony, Vice-chairman of SGSIA YIP Chun-nam Stephen, President of HKAPMC Dr. CHENG Kam-wah Edmond, and Immediate Past President of HKAPMC Dr. CHAN Chi-kau Johnnie.
With professionalism, alertness and initiative, the Best Security Guard Gold Award winner MAN Tak-ming provided the Police with useful crime information through “Project VanGUARD” and assisted the Police in detecting a case of “Trafficking in Dangerous Drugs” that occurred in the industrial building where he worked, displaying his devotion to duty and professionalism.
In his speech, Commissioner of Police SIU Chak-yee shared his past experience as a frontline officer in combating crime together with security guards, reminded practitioners of the security services industry to always follow the rules “Do not hesitate to report anything suspicious; do not panic in case of emergency”, and encouraged them to join hands with the Police in combating and preventing crime with the aims of safeguarding Hong Kong and maintaining Hong Kong as one of the safest cities in the world.
