Two women die in Tseung Kwan O accident (Revised)

Two women die in Tseung Kwan O accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Tseung Kwan O yesterday (December 14) in which nineteen people were injured and two of them subsequently died.

At about 11.50pm yesterday, a bus driven by a 60-year-old man was travelling along Po Yap Road eastbound, while another bus driven by a 29-year-old man was travelling along Po Shun Road southbound. At the junction of Po Yap Road and Po Shun Road, two buses collided.

Both drivers and 17 passengers on the buses sustained injuries. Seven men and nine women were sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital and a man and two women were taken to United Christian Hospital for medical treatment.

Among the injured persons, a 64-year-old female passenger was certified dead at 12.46am today (December 15) after arriving Tseung Kwan O Hospital. Another 34-year-old female passenger was also certified dead at 12.38am at United Christian Hospital.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon East, are proceeding.
