Police appeal for witnesses to fatal traffic accident in Shum Shui Po

Police today (September 12) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Lai Chi Kok Road August 14 in which a 69-year-old man who was injured sebsequently died in hospital.

A private car being driven by a 49-year-old woman was travelling along Lai Chi Kok Road northwest bound carriageway at about 6 am on August 14. At the junction with a pedestrian crossing of Wong Chuk Street, the private car hit the man who was dashing out from the offside pavement.

The man was taken to Caritas Medical Centre in critical condition and later transferred to Kwong Wah Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.51pm on August 18.

Investigations by Accident Investigation, Traffic Kowloon West are underway.
