Elderly woman killed in Kwai Chung traffic accident

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwai Chung during which an 80-year-old woman was killed this morning (August 17).

At about 7 am, a taxi driven by a 46-year-old driver was travelling along Tai Lin Pai Road and headed south. While approaching Tai Lin Pai Road No. 21-25 outside Vanta Industrial Building, it reportedly knocked down the 80-year-old woman who was pushing an iron cart along the nearside of the road.

Sustaining head injuries, the woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.11 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team, Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.
