Duo arrested for murder
Police yesterday (August 1) arrested a 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman in suspected connection with a murder in which a three-year-old boy was killed in Kowloon City in June.
On July 5, Police received a report from a 52-year-old woman that her 28-year-old daughter and three-year-old grandson were missing since mid June.
Following extensive investigation, police officers located the 28-year-old woman and her 26-year-old boyfriend at a flat in To Kwa Wan Road early yesterday morning. Enquiries revealed that the woman's three-year-old son reportedly choked while eating in a flat on Kowloon City Road on June 15 but the woman did not make a report to Police after the incident. The boy reportedly suffocated to his death at last.
The woman later contacted her boyfriend who then accompanied her to dispose the body of the boy in a rubbish bag on the roadside of Sheung Heung Road.
The duo was arrested for murder. They are still being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Kowloon City are proceeding.
