Spiritual blessing gangsters arrested in Aberdeen
Police arrested two male and three female spiritual blessing gangsters, suspected to be in connection with a street deception case in Aberdeen yesterday (July 19).
At about 9 am yesterday, a 60-year-old woman was approached and persuaded to collect her cash and valuables for spiritual blessing by two men and three women at South Horizons in Aberdeen.
She returned home to collect her belongings and revealed the incident to her husband who in turn reported the case to Police.
Responding to the report, Police officers swiftly arrived at the scene and arrested two male and three female two-way permit holders. The victim suffered no lost.
The five arrested persons, aged between 33 and 38, were arrested for conspiracy to defraud. They are still being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Western District are underway.
Police appealed to the public to be aware of such deception case and anyone who has come across the similar deceptive modus operandi is advised to report to the investigating officers at 2859 4282 or the Aberdeen Police Station at 2870 7200 or 7213.
