Appeal for information on dead body found at sea off Ninepin Island (with photo)
Police today (July 12) appealed to the members of the public for information on a dead body found at the sea off Ninepin Island on July 2.
At about 11.15 am on July 2, Marine Police received report that a dead body was drifting at the sea off Ninepin Island. The deceased was confirmed later to be the missing woman, Ip Ka-po.
Ip Ka-po, aged 24, left her residence in Tin Yau Court on June 29 and failed to return since then. Her father made a report to Police on July 1. She was last seen wearing a grey and a black T-shirt, a pair of long green trousers, a pair of silver sports shoes and has two earrings on her right ear. She was carrying a light brown handbag and a blue bag with her when missing.
A post mortem conducted on the deceased revealed that she died of drowning. The body found case was not yet classified pending further enquiries. Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Wong Tai Sin are underway.
Police urge anyone who had seen the missing woman between June 29 and July 2 or had any information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 2352 9456 or 2352 9477.
