Public are advised to watch out traffic bulletins
A Police spokesman announces today (June 28) that Police will implement special traffic arrangements in various districts, in particular on Hong Kong Island, within the next few days to facilitate the holding of celebratory or public events in connection with the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Temporary road closure and traffic diversion measures might need to be implemented in the vicinity of these public events and public are advised to watch out the latest traffic information through the media.
"Traffic in the areas where the events take place is expected to be more heavy during these few days and we appeal to the public to plan their journey well in advance, use public transport as far as possible and try to avoid driving to the relevant districts if not necessary," the spokesman said.
"We will endeavour to minimise the inconvenience caused to the public and will release the most up-to-date traffic information and advice to the public through the media regularly," he added.
Motorists are also advised to drive with care and patience, and follow the directions of the Traffic Police and to take heed of traffic signs at the scene.
