Traffic arrangements for public event on July 1 (with map)
Police will implement special traffic arrangements on July 1 (Sunday) to facilitate a public meeting at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay followed by a procession to march off from Victoria Park.
(A) Road closure
The following roads will be closed from 1.30 pm and as necessary:
(1) Northbound Gloucester Road from the U-turn loop underneath Tai Hang Road flyover to Kingston Street;
(2) Sugar Street;
(3) Great George Street;
(4) A section of Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street;
(5) A section of westbound Kingston Street between Gloucester Road and Paterson Street;
(6) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park Road Flyover and Causeway Road;
(7) Cleveland Street;
(8) A section of eastbound Kingston Street between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road;
(9) A section of Paterson Street between Gloucester Road and Kingston Street;
(10) Jardine's Bazaar;
(11) Tang Lung Street;
(12) A section of Canal Road East between Russell Street and Hennessy Road;
(13) A section of Canal Road West between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road;
(14) A section of Wan Chai Road between Canal Road West and Morrison Hill Road; and
(15) A section of Bowrington Road between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road.
The following roads will be closed from 1.45 pm and as necessary:
(1) Westbound Causeway Road;
(2) Moreton Terrace;
(3) Shelter Street;
(4) A slip road leading from eastbound Yee Wo Street to Leighton Road;
(5) Irving Street;
(6) A section of Pennington Street between Keswick Street and Yee Wo Street;
(7) Westbound Yee Wo Street;
(8) Westbound Hennessy Road;
(9) A section of Lee Garden Road between Kai Chiu Road and Hennessy Road;
(10) Kai Chiu Road;
(11) A section of Yun Ping Road between Lan Fong Road and Kai Chiu Road;
(12) A section of Percival Street between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road;
(13) A slip road leading from eastbound Johnston Road to westbound Hennessy Road;
(14) A section of Thomson Road between Johnston Road and Luard Road;
(15) A section of Luard Road between Johnston Road and Hennessy Road; and
(16) A section of southbound Gloucester Road between Victoria Park Road Flyover and Causeway Road.
The following road will be closed from 3.30 pm and as necessary:
(1) Anton Street.
(2) Westbound Queensway;
(3) A slip road leading from northbound Justice Drive to westbound Queensway;
(4) A slip road leading from southbound Cotton Tree Drive Flyover to westbound Queensway;
(5) A section of Garden Road between Garden Road Flyover and Queensway;
(6) A section of Queen's Road Central between Queensway and Pedder Street;
(7) Bank Street;
(8) A section of Ice House Street between Lower Albert Road and Des Voeux Road Central;
(9) Duddell Street;
(10) A section of westbound Des Voeux Road Central between Queensway and Pedder Street; and
(11) A section of Lower Albert Road between Garden Road and Ice House Street.
The following roads will be closed at any time when necessary:
(1) Yacht Street;
(2) A section of Lau Li Street between Ngan Mok Street and Hing Fat Street;
(3) A section of Electric Road between Lau Sin Street and Tsing Fung Street;
(4) A section of Lau Sin Street between the cul-de-sac outside Park Tower and Hing Fat Street;
(5) A section of Hing Fat Street between Causeway Road and Lau Sin Street;
(6) A section of northbound Tai Hang Road Flyover between a slip road to Tung Lo Wan Road and westbound Victoria Park Road; and
(7) A section of southbound Percival Street between Gloucester Road Service Road and Lockhart Road.
(B) Traffic Diversion
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 1.30 pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along southbound Gloucester Road will be prohibited from turning right to the U-turn loop leading to northbound Gloucester Road;
(2) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will be prohibited from turning left to Sugar Street;
(3) Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road Flyover will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Kingston Street;
(4) Traffic along southbound Paterson Street must turn left to eastbound Kingston Street;
(5) Traffic along southbound Cleveland Street will be prohibited from turning right to westbound Kingston Street;
(6) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be prohibited from turning left to Jardine's Bazaar;
(7) Traffic along westbound Hennessy Road will be prohibited from turning left to southbound Canal Road East;
(8) Traffic along westbound Russell Street must turn left at the junction with Canal Road East;
(9) Traffic along northbound Canal Road West near the junction with Sharp Street West, will be diverted to up-ramp leading to northbound Canal Road Flyover;
(10) Traffic along eastbound Sharp Street West will be diverted to up-ramp leading to northbound Canal Road Flyover;
(11) Traffic along eastbound Sharp Street West will be prohibited from turning left to northbound Bowrington Road;
(12) Traffic along northbound Bowrington Road must turn right to eastbound Sharp Street West;
(13) Traffic along eastbound Wan Chai Road must turn right to southbound Morrison Hill Road;
(14) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited from turning left to southbound Cleveland Street;
(15) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited from turning left to southbound Paterson Street;
(16) Traffic along a slip road leading from westbound Victoria Park Road to Gloucester Road Service Road must turn right before the junction with Cleveland Street; and
(17) Traffic along southbound Victoria Park Road Flyover must turn right to Gloucester Road Service Road.
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 1.45 pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic from westbound King's Road must turn left to southbound Tung Lo Wan Road, or turn right to northbound Hing Fat Street;
(2) Traffic along westbound Tung Lo Wan Road will be prohibited from turning right to Moreton Terrace;
(3) Traffic along northbound Tung Lo Wan Road will be prohibited from entering Irving Street and must turn left to westbound Leighton Road;
(4) Traffic along northbound Pennington Street must turn right to Keswick Street;
(5) Traffic along eastbound Yee Wo Street will be prohibited from turning right to southbound Tung Lo Wan Road or westbound Leighton Road;
(6) Traffic along northbound Yun Ping Road must turn left to westbound Lan Fong Road;
(7) Traffic from Kai Chiu Road Hennessy Centre Carpark must turn left to southbound Lee Garden Road and turn right to Fu Ming Street;
(8) Traffic along westbound Leighton Road must turn left to Wong Nai Chung Road except franchised bus;
(9) Traffic along southbound Percival Street must turn right to westbound Lockhart Road;
(10) Traffic along eastbound Lockhart Road will be prohibited from turning right to southbound Percival Street;
(11) Traffic along northbound Tin Lok Lane will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Hennessy Road;
(12) Traffic along southbound Stewart Road will be prohibited from turning right to westbound Hennessy Road;
(13) Traffic along southbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning right to westbound Hennessy;
(14) Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Hennessy Road;
(15) Traffic along southbound Fenwick Street must turn left to eastbound Hennessy Road.
(16) Traffic along northbound Tai Wong Street East must turn left or right before the junction with Luard Road;
(17) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road will be prohibited from turning right to the western junction of Thomson Road;
(18) Traffic along eastbound Johnston Road will be prohibited from turning left to the western junction of Thomson Road;
(19) Traffic along eastbound Johnston Road will be prohibited from turning left to northbound Luard Road;
(20) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road will be prohibited from turning right to northbound Luard Road;
(21) Traffic along westbound Johnston Road must turn left to southbound Ship Street; and
(22) Traffic along northbound Landale Street must turn right to eastbound Johnston Road.
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted from 3.30 pm onwards and as necessary:
(1) Traffic along northbound Justice Drive must go straight to Justice Drive Flyover;
(2) Traffic along westbound Queen's Road East must turn left to Justice Drive;
(3) Traffic along eastbound Queensway will be prohibited from turning right to eastbound Queen's Road East;
(4) Traffic along eastbound Queensway will be prohibited from turning right to southbound Cotton Tree Drive;
(5) Traffic along southbound Cotton Tree Drive Flyover will be prohibited from turning right to the down Bank of China Tower ramp leading to westbound Queensway;
(6) Traffic along northbound Garden Road will be diverted to Garden Road Flyover;
(7) Traffic along northbound Garden Road will be prohibited from turning left to westbound Lower Albert Road except vehicles heading for Hong Kong Central Hospital and the crowd situation so allowed;
(8) Traffic along northbound Glenealy will be prohibited from turning right to eastbound Lower Albert Road except vehicles heading for Hong Kong Central Hospital and the crowd situation so allowed; and
(9) Traffic along eastbound Wyndham Street must turn left before the junction with Glenealy and Lower Albert Road except vehicles heading for Hong Kong Central Hospital and the crowd situation so allowed.
Traffic along the following roads will be diverted at any time when necessary:
(1) Traffic along northbound Tai Hang Road Flyover must go straight to northbound Victoria Park Road Flyover leading to westbound Gloucester Road;
(2) Traffic along westbound Gloucester Road Service Road will be prohibited from turning left to southbound Percival Street;
(3) Traffic along eastbound Causeway Road will be prohibited from turning left to northbound Hing Fat Street; and
(4) Traffic along westbound King's Road will be prohibited from turning right to northbound Hing Fat Street.
(C) Suspension of bus stops
All bus stops along the closed roads are to be suspended from 1.45 pm until resumption of bus service.
(D) Suspension of public light bus (PLB) and taxi stands
All PLB stands and taxi stands along the closed roads will be suspended from 1 pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation.
(E) Suspension of on-street parking spaces
All metered and non-metered on-street parking spaces along Tung Lo Wan Road and Gloucester Road Service Road will be suspended between noon and 7 pm.
(F) Suspension of car parks
The parking spaces of Victoria Park Public Carpark will be suspended from 10 am to 6 pm, except the disable parking spaces.
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public/private car parks from 1.30 pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation:
(1) Park Lane at 310 Gloucester Road (entrance at Great George Street);
(2) In Square at 311 Gloucester Road (entrance at Great George Street); and
(3) Hang Lung Centre at 2 Paterson Street (entrance at Great George Street).
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public/private car parks from 1.45 pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation:
(1) 9 Moreton Terrace;
(2) Central Library at 66 Causeway Road;
(3) Regal Hongkong Hotel;
(4) Good View Carpark at Keswick Street;
(5) The Hennessy Centre at 500 Hennessy Road (vehicles may leave the carpark to Percival Street via Fu Ming Street);
(6) The open-air car park in Tang Lung Street;
(7) On Lok Lane;
(8) CNT Tower at 338 Hennessy Road;
(9) Cheuk Nang 21st Century Plaza at 250 Hennessy Road; and
(10) Shanghai Industrial Investment Building at 48 Hennessy Road.
Due to road closures, vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the following public/private car parks from 3.30 pm until the crowd is dispersed and the area reverts to normal operation:
(1) Cheung Kong Centre at 2 Queen's Road Central;
(2) Bank of China Tower at 1 Garden Road;
(3) Standard Chartered Bank Building at 3 Queen's Road Central; and
(4) The alley next to 9 Queen's Road Central.
(G) Suspension of tram stops
(1) Tram stops at both bounds of Causeway Road will be suspended from 2.45 pm until the crowd is dispersed; and
(2) Tram stops along both bounds of Yee Wo Street near Paterson Street will be suspended from 2.30 pm if necessary.
