Fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in which a 52-year-old male bus-driver was killed and another 41-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were injured in Yuen Long this (June 20) afternoon.

At about 2.45 pm, two light good vehicles, a medium good vehicle (MGV), and a bus were travelling in sequence along the slip road of Tsing Long Highway towards Tuen Mun. When approaching the junction of San Tin Highway, the bus reportedly rammed into the MGV from behind, which caused injuries to the bus driver, the MGV's driver and a female passenger of the bus.

Sustaining serious injuries, the bus driver was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 3.36 pm.

Investigations will be taken over by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
