Old woman killed in Tsing Yi traffic accident
Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 66-year-old woman was killed in Tsing Yi on June 10.
At about 11.50 am, an eight-seat wagon, a container truck and a private car were travelling along Kowloon bound Tsing Long Highway. When reaching Ting Kau Bridge, the private car reportedly lost control. It first hit the eight-seat wagon and later rammed into the container truck, which caused injuries to the driver and seven passengers of the eight-seat wagon.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the 66-year-old female passenger was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where she was certified dead at 12.48 pm on today(June 12).
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.
Police urged anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 3661 1344 or the traffic report room at 3661 1300.
