Special traffic arrangements for public procession

Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate a public procession to be held from the Victoria Park to the Hong Kong Stadium on May 6 (Sunday).

The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 1.30 pm until the procession finishes at about 4.30 pm:

(I) Road Closures

1. Southbound Gloucester Road between Great George Street and Causeway Road except buses;
2. Sugar Street;
3. Westbound Yee Wo Street between Pennington Street and Jardine's Bazaar;
4. Lee Garden Road;
5. Kai Chiu Road;
6. Pak Sha Road;
7. Yun Ping Road;
8. Lan Fong Road;
9. Lower Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Eastern Hospital Road; and
10. A section of Hysan Avenue between Yun Ping Road and Sunning Road.

(II) Traffic Diversions

1. Traffic along southbound Gloucester Road will be diverted to southbound Tai Hang Road Flyover;
2. Traffic along northbound Pennington Street will be diverted to eastbound Yee Wo Street;
3. Traffic along eastbound Hysan Avenue towards Yun Ping Road will be diverted to either Sun Wui Road, Hoi Ping Road or Sunning Road;
4. Traffic along westbound Leighton Road towards Yun Ping Road will be diverted into northbound Pennington Street; and
5. Traffic along eastbound Leighton Road towards Yun Ping Road will be diverted into northbound Pennington Street.

(III) Suspension of Bus-stops

a) All bus-stops at the section of Yee Wo Street and westbound Hennessy Road between Pennington Street and Lee Garden Road will be suspended;
b) All bus-stops at eastbound carriageway outside 13, Yee Wo Street will be suspended and relocated to 1, Yee Wo Street; and
c) The bus-stop for Residents' Service at Lee Garden Road near Foo Ming Street will be suspended.

(IV) Suspension of Green Minibus (GMB) Stands and Public Light Bus (PLB) Stands

a) All GMB Stands at Lee Garden Road and Lan Fong Road will be suspended and relocated to Sunning Road; and
b) The PLB Stand at Sugar Street will be suspended.

(V) Suspension of Taxi Stand

The taxi stand at Yun Ping Road will be suspended.

(VI) Suspension of Parking Spaces

a) All motorcycle parking spaces at Sunning Road will be suspended between 10 am and 6 pm;
b) The metered parking spaces at Hing Fat Street public carpark will be suspended between 10 am and 5 pm; and
c) The motorcycle parking spaces near the entrance of Hing Fat Street public carpark will be suspended between 10 am and 5 pm.

Motorists are advised to take heed of the instructions given by the Traffic Police at the scene. Vehicles parked illegally will be towed away without prior notice.
